MECHANICAL JOINT SEALS
In circumstances where there are isolated and defective joints
within a pipeline it may not be necessary to rehabilitate or reline
the entire pipe length. UTIC provides a system of
mechanical joint seals to rehabilitate joints that have become
open or have been displaced resulting in ingress of water and
soil to the pipeline. The system comprises a rubber seal that
spans across the defective joint and is held in place by stainless
steel bands that ensure a tight and waterproof seal against the
pipe wall. The flexible rubber seal will maintain a tight fit to the
pipe wall even if the pipeline is moving or subsiding creating an
effective and long term repair. As the seals are manually
installed all safety procedures are followed by UTIC’s trained
Technicians when installing in pipelines ranging from 900mm to
2000mm.
